Why Kendrick Lamar Won’t Be Giving Fans New Music Anytime Soon: For months fans have been expecting Kendrick Lamar to drop new music. After receiving backlash lately for not taking part into the Black Movement protests, he withdrew.
The Humble rapper did actually take part in the protests, when he wasn’t posting any images online fans quickly assumed he wasn’t participating. The backlash came after J.Cole dominated headlines taking part in the forefront of the protests, they compared the two.
When somebody asked the rapper’s label boss, Punch to deliver a message to Kendrick on his birthday to bring back “the real,” Punch responded that an imminent return is no longer in the cards.
“Nah. N***as don’t appreciate it,” he wrote as a response.
Lamar is rumored to be working on an album right now. Originally, it was scheduled to drop in 2020 but, with Punch’s tweet, the wait may be longer.
